I’ve been photographing this beautiful family for 10 years now, which is kind of wild to think about. When I first met them, their oldest was a newborn—and now here we are, these boys are growing into these funny, smart, and genuinely great kids. Watching them change year after year has been one of my favorite parts of this job.
We met up at Whetstone Park of Roses on a beautiful late September evening, and it truly could not have been better. The light was soft and golden, the weather was just right, and the gardens were still full of color. Between the blooming roses, tree-lined paths, and tucked-away benches, it’s one of those locations that always delivers no matter how many times I shoot there.
Of course, we weren’t exactly alone. Apparently, most every high school in Columbus also decided this was the park to come to for their homecoming pictures before their dances that evening. Everywhere you turned—formal dresses, suits, big groups, and lots of parents trying to organize it all and take pictures. We just rolled with it, occasionally pausing for a group to pass or sneaking into open spots like pros. Honestly, it added a little entertainment to the evening!
This family always makes things easy. They showed up in simple, classic outfits that worked perfectly with the setting—soft blues, neutrals, and patterns that complemented each other without being too matchy. It all came together in a way that felt natural and timeless, which is exactly what you want for photos like these.
And the brothers… they are the best. They’re genuinely funny and always have something to say that keeps me laughing throughout the session. They’re also incredibly cooperative—smiling, posing, and going along with everything I ask. But after 10 years, I know the look… that subtle shift where they’re clearly thinking, “We’ve done enough pictures for one day.” And then, without fail, the biggest, happiest smiles show up the second I say we’re finished. Amazing timing every single year.
Mom and Dad are just as wonderful—easygoing, patient, and clearly doing an incredible job raising these boys. After a decade of sessions, everything feels comfortable and familiar, which makes the whole experience relaxed and fun for everyone.
I truly feel so grateful that they’ve trusted me to capture their family for all of these years. Ten years of memories is something really special, and it’s been such a joy watching these boys grow and change along the way.
Already looking forward to the next time we do it all again 😊
