Jake, Class of 2026 | Columbus Ohio Senior Photographer

Early September gave us one of those perfect Ohio evenings—the kind where the light is soft, the air is just right, and everything at Jeffrey Mansion looks like it belongs in a magazine. It’s easily one of my favorite spots to shoot, with its classic stonework, beautiful architecture, and endless little pockets of great light. Honestly, you could take a great photo every ten steps there… which is both a blessing and a curse because it makes it very hard to stop shooting!  This is easily one of my favorite spots to photograph seniors.

Jake absolutely owned this session from the start. He has that natural, easygoing confidence that makes my job feel effortless. Whether he was leaning against the stone walls or framed by those iconic windows, every spot just worked. He’s also genuinely such a nice kid and it really shows in his relaxed, confident presence in front of the camera.

We did most of his session around the mansion, where he kept things simple and classic with a few different looks—a maroon tee with cargos, a light pink tee with blue shorts, and a navy layered outfit with jeans. Each one fit the setting perfectly without feeling overdone.

After we wrapped up at the mansion, we made the short trip over to Bishop Hartley High School to capture some photos where Jake spends a lot of his time—on the baseball field.  There’s just something about shooting athletes in their element that brings out a whole different energy.   From relaxed shots by the dugout to more serious moments out on the field, these were a lot of fun to do.

Jake plays baseball with my son (also named Jake), so I’ve had the chance to see firsthand the kind of teammate and player he is. That familiarity made this session even more meaningful and enjoyable.

Jake is not only a talented baseball player but also a genuinely kind and hardworking young man. I truly enjoyed this session and feel lucky to have captured this exciting season of his life. Wishing him nothing but the best as he heads toward graduation and whatever comes next!
