The T Family | Columbus Ohio Extended Family Photographer

I had the chance to photograph this wonderful extended family again at Franklin Park Conservatory Community Gardens, and it was so much fun seeing them two years later. The last time I saw them, those adorable toddlers were tiny babies—and one of them hadn’t even made their debut yet. Fast forward to now, and they’ve turned into busy, curious, on-the-move little humans with opinions, speed, and zero interest in sitting still for long. In other words… perfection.

This session included Grandma, her two adult children, and their families—and it’s clear this crew is growing in the best way. There’s something really special about photographing families over time, and this was one of those sessions where you can literally see the years in the best possible way.

The setting couldn’t have been better. The Community Gardens at the conservatory offer such a variety of beautiful backdrops without needing to go far—lush greenery, charming pathways, and that classic white garden structure that frames photos so perfectly. Add in a warm summer evening with soft golden light filtering through the trees, and it made everything feel relaxed and easy (well… as relaxed as it can be with toddlers on the loose).

Their outfits were effortlessly coordinated with soft greens, neutrals, and denim tones that worked beautifully with the garden setting. Nothing over the top—just clean, classic choices that let the focus stay right where it should be: on this sweet, growing family.

And then there were the toddlers… the real stars of the show. They were equal parts adorable and energetic—running, exploring, and occasionally cooperating just long enough for us to grab those perfect little moments in between the chaos. Honestly, sessions like this are less about “everyone look at the camera and smile” and more about capturing personality—and these kids delivered. There may have been a little bribery, a little chasing, and a lot of laughter involved.

Seeing this family again was such a reminder of why I love what I do. Families grow, change, and somehow get even better with time. Being able to capture those stages—from tiny babies to full-on toddler mode—is something really special.

This is truly a beautiful family, inside and out, and I’m so glad I got to photograph them again. I have a feeling next time, those toddlers will be even faster… so I might start stretching now.
